My Summer Travel Bucket List

Pink sands beach crete

Elafonissi (Crete)

Although the first time I visited Greece was when I was about 14, I still vividly remember how beautiful it was and how amazing the food tasted. I have since been lucky enough to visit a number of the Greek islands, however the one that clearly stole my heart - more than once - was Crete.

I have fond memories of adventure filled family holidays on the island as well as booze fuelled weeks with friends in Malia, although I am not sure that is something I (or my liver) wish to repeat!

My love of exploration stemmed from early trips to Greece, my parents would hire a car for our entire stay and spend everyday going against the maps and venturing off the beaten track, discovering hidden beaches where not a single soul could not be seen for miles.

Elafonissi - otherwise known as the pink beach - is a tiny island separated from the West coast of Crete by a warm lagoon no more than a metre deep. The sand is pink because of millions of tiny broken up seashells and coral. Although locals say the island's beautiful pink hue doesn't linger all year round, it still looks like an amazing place to explore.

Sorrento Italy

For as long as I can remember I have always wanted to visit Italy. I have this dream of hiring a car and spending weeks travelling across the country lapping up all it has to offer. For now though I will happily place Sorrento at the top of my travel bucket list.

Just looking at pictures of the historic town fills me with a burning desire to spend hours exploring its meandering streets. And of course, who wouldn't want to spend day on day filling their faces with the finest of pizzas, pastas and ice cream.

I would also quite like to hop on the ferry to Capri and spend a day sipping wine in fancy restaurants whilst pretending I am rich.

Plitvice Waterfalls

Croatia is somewhere I have been dying to visit for several years - I am yet to persuade my boyfriend to go there but I refuse to stop trying!
The country encompasses more than 1000 islands and I would absolutely love to spend a couple of weeks sailing around, hopping from beach to beach and exploring all that the country has to offer. Most of Croatia's beaches have pebbly coast lines, this is enough to make me want to go there; I can't think of anything worse than suncream and sand.
One place I have been dying to see for so long time now is one of Croatia's most famous attractions: Plitvice Lakes National Park. Just look how incredibly beautiful it is in the picture, I can only imagine what it would be like in real life - what I would do to dip my toes into that emerald water!!!

So there you have it, the 3 destinations that are at the top of my summer travel bucket list. And because that wasn't torturous enough (I am sadly not going away this year), why not drool over some amazing beachwear!!!

Rare London Marble Midi Dress

Rare London Marble Dress 4 Rare London Marble Dress 2 Rare London Marble Dress Rare London Marble Dress 3
Dress- c/o Rare London
Bag- Primark
Shoes- c/o Marks & Spencer
I wore this Rare London dress to a wedding reception a few weeks ago and it received a fare few compliments. Being on the shorter side of life, I sometimes struggle with midi dresses but this one falls just at the right place on my legs. I could have done with sizing down so it was a little bit tighter below the waist but this may not have been wise for the ceilidh dancing antics that occurred during the evening!
Also, in retrospect, perhaps I shouldn't have chosen a plunge midi dress when you can clearly drive a double decker bus down my cleavage, but I was drawn to the marble print and the gorgeous back detailing - let's appreciate the back cleavage instead!!!!
On a side note, you may (or may not) have noticed that may posts have been a little sparse over the last few weeks. Life threw me an unexpected curve ball recently and it completely knocked me for six; I haven't really felt like doing much. My blog however has been such a sanctuary for me these past few years so after some moral support from my mum, I decided that I shouldn't push aside one of my biggest passions. I have some exciting blog plans for when I get back on my feet (and I will) so don't give up on me just yet :)
