Here's where I look back on the products that were lucky enough to end up on my face last year with some definite firm favourites that I know will continue into 2014.
Rimmel Wake Me up Foundation- I nearly didn't put this in my favourites, although it has been my go to foundation throughout the whole of 2013 the more I slap it on my face the more I dislike it. I have been noticing over the past few weeks that my T Zone has been extremely greasy (something new for me as I have always had dry skin) and realised that it was down to this foundation. The colour match is perfect (although the Edward Cullen glitter dust is slightly annoying) and it stays in place all day, however I don't wish to have skin like a chip pan so my hunt for the perfect foundation goes on...!
Real Techniques Blush Brush- Not much to say about this as I am sure you have all used or read reviews on these brushes before. The blush brush (as all real technique brushes) is ridiculously soft, it feels nice in your hand and creates a lovely subtle glow to your cheeks because of the pointed end.
Sanctuary Fresh Faced Purifying Wash- This stuff is so damn good even my boyfriend has been
using stealing it! Sanctuary is amazing for those who suffer with dry, sensitive skin....this stuff has transformed my face. It has a nice fresh scent to it and a little goes a long way. I use a pea sized amount, lather it up in my hands with warm water and then massage it all over my face (you don't need a flannel or Muslin cloth with this cleanser), I then splash my face with cold water to close my pores and virtually ALL my make up has been removed....only when I wear waterproof eyeliner do I sometimes need some reinforcement.
Natural Collection Mascara- Name the mascara....I have tried it! After years of spending countless pounds on finding the perfect one I finally came to the realisation that nothing will beat my trusty natural collection lash length. It doesn't clump, it makes my eyelashes HUGE and it's only £1.99....AHHH Mazing!
Bourjois Colour Boost (Peach on the beach)- Cute name or what? I loved this lip product last year and although it would have been a perfect shade for summer, after discovering it in the winter I realised it's the perfect colour for all year round. The thing I love most about the colour boost lip crayons is how moisturising they are (they almost melt on your lips), they do not feel at all sticky either which I know is a pet hate with a lot of you! There isn't a huge range of colours to choose from in this range but there is definitely a colour for every skin tone, I want to try fuchsia Libra next....a vibrant and juicy pink!
Maybelline Brow Drama- YES.....finally a product that tames my unruly brows! I have caterpillar brows (they run in the family) and quite often they tend to stray out of place if I have just used a powder or pencil to fill them in. I decided to try brow drama after reading the hype and I am so glad I did. I'm not going to lie the weird shaped wand did scare me a little at first but after a few cack handed attempts I got used to it. My brows stay in place all day after using this and if you use it on its own then it makes your brows look structured but still natural.
Real Techniques Expert Face Brush- Same as above.... makes my foundation glide on like a dream!
Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place Shadow Cream (Pink Pearl)- I have a confession, this was my first ever high end make up product (kindly donated by my mother) and it sparked an obsession. This shade is a gorgeous pink champagne shimmer which can be worn during the day or in the evening with a smoky eye. It is a really nice consistency and blends really easily on the lid, it does crease ever so slightly but nothing a bit of good quality primer can't fix.
Sleek Blush in Antique- I received this blush for Christmas after wanting to try Sleek for a really long time (thanks mum). I love how simple the packaging is (without looking cheap) and is the perfect size for popping in my handbag. I was a bit put off by the super obvious glitter that is in this blush but it doesn't really show up that much on your face (its more like a nice highlight). I love the shade of antique, although it looks quite dark in the pan, it transfers beautifully on the face and it gives you that 'outside in the cold' glow look.!
I hope you have enjoyed this post, I am really enjoying writing about beauty products at the moment.
