Splurge then Save

Tartan coat, textured jumper, midi rings, ankle boots

Rings- Shop Dixi
Jumper- Matalan
Coat- Topshop
Boots- ASOS

I have decided to start a new feature called 'Splurge then Save'. Just because you might spend a lot of money on a beautiful wardrobe staple (such as this eye wateringly gorgeous coat), doesn't mean you have to break the bank with the rest of the outfit!!!!!!

Textured monochrome

 Top-H&M
Necklace & Jeans- Topshop
Trainers- Barratts

Are wedge trainers still acceptable???? I hope so....I still very much love these ones I received from Barratts last year.
As I was having a lazy day doing boring grown up chores I decided to keep my outfit simple with this monochrome textured jumper I got from h&m yesterday. It's definitely a classic piece that will go with lots in my wardrobe and for ten pound the material is really good quality. I also bought this statement necklace from Topshop in the sale for five pound. I think it's really unusual but the boyfriend disagrees. He tends to have a strong opinion on my jewellery, I have one necklace that he likens to a dog collar!! Sweet isn't he!!!

p.s Pat on the back to anyone who spots the ketchup on my jeans!!! I'm so real life!

What's on my beauty wishlist?

MUA Matte Palette- I have been after a Matte eyeshadow palette to wear for everyday looks rather than shimmer. I love the neutral tones in this MUA one.
Sanctuary Moisturiser- I love my Sanctuary cleanser, it makes my skin feel amazing and it hasn't ever broke me out (touch wood). My current moisturiser is about to run out so I might grab this one next.
Armani Si- Two words.....ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. Every time I go into a department store or boots I have a cheeky spray of this perfume, it's such a lovely girly scent. I have been hinting to my boyfriend for ages about my love for this perfume but I don't think he is clocking on!!!
Illamasqua Nail Polish- This nail polish reminds me of a galaxy it's stunning. I really want to try Illamasqua , their products look so luxurious.
Bourjois Color Boost- My mum has this colour and it's lovely. It is more like a gloss than a lipstick but it lasts for hours and doesn't dry your lips out.

Aztec Kimono

Kimono & Bag- New Look
Dress- Internationale
Necklace & shoes- Primark

Hope you are all having a good Sunday! I have a hangover today so I am naturally stuffing my face with chilli heatwave doritos and salsa! I definitely think the best thing about going out and drinking is the guilt free junk food feast that occurs the following day!
This is the outfit I wore out last night for my friends birthday, minus the flats! Instead I wore stonking great big wedges and soon regretted it after dancing till the wee hours at a house night in Manchester....just a few blisters!

How beautamous is this Kimono? This is definitely the one I have been waiting so long to buy. I am not a fan of the tassely ones as I find them a bit fussy, I wanted one that was more like a cardigan/jacket that could be worn dressed up or down and I think this ticks all the boxes. Added bonus....how gorgeous is the stitching?

Have you seen any gorgeous Kimonos on the high street? I am on the look out for another!

Check mate

 Shirt and Bag- Primark
Top and Jeans- Topshop
Boots- F&F
Sunglasses- Turkey

It has been so long since I did an outfit post so I ran out in between rain showers this afternoon and snapped some pictures. This shirt was a recent buy from Primark for £5. I have seen a lot of red and green tartan this A/W so I when I saw this grey one I grabbed it as its so different to anything I have seen so far in the shops.

I am glad to be back blogging, I hope you are glad to have me back too :)

September favourites

I spent 45 minutes trying to take a picture of my September faves with Tim's Nikon D3100 but I failed. I have been blogging with it for over a year now so I really think it's time to learn how to use it properly, I also need to invest in some lighting equipment as our house is so dark. This photo was taken on my Iphone so I apologise for the ridiculously rubbish quality!

Better late than never but here are my September Favourites.

Candle- Yankee who now!!! I found myself in the candle isle at TK Maxx after the recent death of my one and only Yankee candle and I came across the brand For every Body.
I can't explain how amazing the scents of these candles are. This particular one is called powdered sugar cookies and it's like a party in my nostrils! It smells like icing sugar and cookies but not in a sickly way and it fills the room with its gorgeous scent, it also burns evenly and lasts FOREVER!
Their candles are also made from Soy which I believe is much better for you. At only £5.99 for an 18oz jar I would definitely recommend buying one of these over a yankee candle.

Face Wash- This sanctuary face wash is my holy grail. I have really sensitive dry skin so tend have problems with most drugstore face products. This however leaves my skin really soft and doesn't ever break me out. It has a nice fresh scent and gets rid of heavy make up easily.

Fake tan- I have never been one for heavy fake tan but I do like to bronze up before a night out. I have tried several products in the past, high end and drugstore but none seem to match up to the St Moriz moose. It applies like a dream and is instant so you can see where you are applying it. Rather than a deep tan it gives me more of a holiday glow which I prefer. You can find this product in Tesco for around £3.99.

Eye shadow- This eye shadow palette is from Topshop and has the perfect shades for the Autumn. All of the shades are extremely pigmented and blend really nicely. The lightest shade is really nice to highlight the inner corner of the eye.

Bronzer- I have a love hate relationship with this bare minerals bronzer. It is very dark and quite earthy so if you have pale skin, stay away! I went away to Turkey in September so took this with me as it looks so nice with a tan.

Nail varnish- Barry M Lychee Gelly nail polish I think has to be my all time favourite. It is such a gorgeous nude colour which applies really nicely and has an amazing glossy shine to it once it dries. I wore this all throughout summer as it goes with absolutely anything.

Purse- I apologise now to all designer lovers but yes my Mulberry purse is a fake...shoot me now!! Anyone who has been to Turkey before will know that they are famous for ripping off big name designers and they do it quite well! The funny thing is they are also quite good at taking our well known shop names and putting their own spin on it. Marks and Spenger anyone?
I am pretty sure my purse came from Primarni (you gotta love it) and only cost me £6. Get your nose up close and you can tell its fake as the stitching is a bit dodgy and the metal work isn't the best but I needed a new purse and for the same price as a Primark purse I got me a fake Mulberry!!!!

What were you favourite items during September?

2 October 2013

Bonjour October!

Time flies when your having fun....or in my case being busy getting my working life back on track after being made redundant. I am all settled now with a new job and now I have got my feet under the table I felt it was time to start blogging again.
Seeing as I have spent the past few months consumed in boring grown up like activities, I don't have any nice new clothes to blog about and if anything my wardrobe has got smaller after a mass clear-out not long ago. One thing I have discovered though in my time away from the blogosphere is that my style has changed dramatically.
I thought I would pick some of my fav pieces from the interwebs for a wishlist style post, hope you enjoy. Everyone you see is under £40 and I want it ALL!

P.s (The boots are only £12...get in there before they go!)
