Croc boots and studs

jaquard 3

Cardigan & Top- Primark
Jeans- Topshop
Boots- Office
Bag- New Look
Necklace- Gift
Anyone else in a post Christmas grump? I am back to work tomorrow so I am sulking my way through a bag of Cadburys wishes.
I braved the dangers of the Trafford Centre yesterday and surprisingly came away with some amazing things, including these gorgeous boots which were a Xmas pressie from my boyfriend. These pictures really are shocking (I ran out to take them as the sun was setting) so they don't do the boots any justice. I will photograph them in all their glory another time. I think it's love though....they are the first pair of real leather boots I have owned in years and they are just perfect with their croc detailing and silver top caps.
What do you all have planned for NYE? I am giving the grannies of Manchester a run for their money and staying in!!
P.S Do you like my new blog design? It was done by the lovely Kathryn from Effie Vanity, make sure you check her out

Perfumes for all budgets

Giorgio Arrmani Si
My lovely Mum saw this perfume on my wishlist a while back and decided to buy it for me for Christmas. This is definitely the most luxurious and amazing smelling perfume I have ever owned and will take pride of place on my dressing table (not that I have one!!!)
I would describe Si as a sultry grown up scent, it has quite a deep woody smell but with a hint of fruitiness which I love. As it settles on your skin you can smell the vanilla notes and it lasts all day. I would definitely recommend this perfume for a special gift.

Calvin Klein Downtown

Calvin Klein Downtown- Gift Set on sale £23.00
I was wondering through Debenhams on Boxing Day and for some reason this perfume caught my eye on the sale shelf, I smelt it and fell in love. It is very similar to Si as it's fruity and woody but it has a slightly fresher almost spicy scent. It sounds strange but the description of the perfume includes pink peppercorn which you can subtly smell.

Zara Black

Zara Black- Available in stores
Zara Black is the perfect handbag perfume as the bottle is so dainty and only costs £7. I always pop this in my clutch for a night out, it is a lovely girly scent but is slightly spicy. Obviously it doesn't last as long on the skin but you don't have to be as sparing with the sprays!!

Shopstyle Christmas Giveaway comp

Christmas party outfit

Tomorrow is the last day to enter the Shopstyle Christmas Giveaway Comp with the chance of winning £1000 in shopping vouchers.
Creating my Ultimate Christmas Party look using Shopstyle was so easy as it's one of my favourite fashion websites to shop at.

If money was no object for me this festive season this is exactly the kind of outfit I would opt for. I really wanted a sequin skirt for my works Christmas Party so I decided that this would be the base of my outfit, this one from Topshop is absolutely gorgeous (you could dress this down after Christmas too with an oversized jumper). I decided to team it with a fluffy crop as I think the contrast in textures would look amazing together, also it's getting chilly out there now so why not wear something that will keep you warm too.

As the skirt and top are quite detailed I decided to keep the shoes simple, I adore these strappy stilettos from Forever 21.

For jewellery I went for my favourite....rose gold. I think rose gold looks stunning against black and is so chic, this Follie Follie watch is absolutely gorgeous and is definitely on my Christmas list. I don't own anything from Follie Follie but whenever I pass a store I always go in and spend far too much time swooning over their gorgeous stock! Too match the watch I have chosen these dainty star stud earrings from Marc Jacobs. Of course I then had to finish the look off with a dark red lip.

I hope you like my entry...If you have entered this amazing Shopstyle competition make sure you leave your links in the comments as I would love to see them.

Jumper& Boots- Primark
Skirt- Topshop
The rumours are true..........I have worn this jumper more than once, which is why you will have seen it before on my blog!! When I buy something I like to get my moneys worth, especially if it is something I really like and I really like this jumper. It's warm, it's a gorgeous colour and it goes with everything.
I wore this outfit yesterday to go Christmas shopping, it was quite a comfy ensemble for schlepping myself around the TrafficTrafford Centre.
I have still not finished buying presents......help!

Gold Bodycon Dress

Dress- New Look
Boots- Primark
Last week me and a friend were on a train back from Nottingham and whilst browsing through Closer magazine came across a gorgeous sparkly bodycon dress which I decided would be perfect for my works Christmas Party. In typical fashion it didn't say ANYWHERE in the magazine where the dress was from so I sulked all the way home. That was until my friend messaged me the following day to say she had spotted a girl in a bar wearing the exact dress and that it was from New Look .
Much to my delight I found the dress in my size whilst shopping a few days later, however upon trying it on it deposited tiny glitter babies all over the fitting room floor, walls, me, my shoes and ALL over my face! Back to the rails it went!
I then came across the exact same dress but in gold and with no glitter (WINNER). Along with my 25% discount I snapped it up straight away and I absolutely love it. I especially love the scoop back detail, as I have no front cleavage I have to make the most of my other assets so back cleavage it is!!!!!

A Christmas time rhyme- Christmas with BHS

PicMonkey Collage

The clocks are ticking, Christmas Day is near

I really need to get my butt into gear

My tree is up and the decs fill the room

I need to get some presents very soon

Loved ones to buy for, secret Santa too

Then the wrapping of presents in Gold, Silver and Blue

But where do I find all of these things

Toys and shoes, home ware and rings

A luxury festive hamper for Grandpa, for my friend a massive sweetie jar

For Mum a fancy leather bag and a knitted Christmas jumper for Dad

There must be a shop where I can go,

Or find things online if it snows...

I think I know what will impress,
so I will head on down to BHS!!
I don’t know about you but I am in spiral of panic right now as once again I have left my shopping to the last few crazy weeks before Christmas. One of the hardest things I face at Christmas time is what to buy my secret Santa, I often find myself in a present paranoia thinking about what to buy and hoping that my 'chosen one' will like it. Whether jokey or sentimental, BHS have some amazing gift sets that will keep within those pesky budgets.

As well as secret Santa gifts I can guarantee you will find presents for all of the fam at BHS and all without breaking the bank.

Check out the Christmas section on their website here http://www.bhs.co.uk/en/bhuk/category/christmas-2271544/home

Before you go make sure you check BHS's adorable Christmas advert...think department store come Toy Story. I LOVE IT!

Winter florals

Winter florals 1 winter florals 2 winter florals 3

Hat & Ankle Boots- Primark
Gilet- My lovely mothers
I much prefer winter florals over summer florals so naturally I adore this shift dress from Mimi Loves Fashion, it completely ticks all of the boxes for girly grunge and fits like a dream. I also think it looks fab with this ostrich /owl/ fur /feather looking gilet which I stole from my Mother (thanks Mum).
It doesn't go so well with the hat but I sacrificed washing my hair to take blog photos!!!
I hope you all had a nice weekend, mine was extremely festive....I ate, I drank and all round it was very Merry!!

Checks, Fur & scottish yetis!

Check print leggings Check print leggings 4 check leggings and fur 2

Boots & Leggings- Primark
Top- H&M
Fur waistcoat- Zara
Once upon a time leggings were all I wore but one day after discovering my beloved Leigh Jeans (and seeing far too many camel toes for my liking) my love affair dwindled, that was however until I found this checked pair in Primark. The one thing I do love about leggings is how comfortable they are so it's an added bonus when they are stylish too.
This outfit is quite simple but sometimes I think less is more.... I didn't want to ruin the whole Scottish yeti look now did I!!

Beanies & Boots

Hat& Bag- Primark
Jumper- Bank
Belt- Old
Jeans- Topshop
Boots- c/o Justfor5pounds

I can't even tell you how many attempts it took to get half decent photographs today. This time it wasn't the lighting but my eye bags and general awful facial appearance, 3 nights out on the trot have taken it's toll....thank goodness for sunglasses!
When Justfor5pounds asked me to pick something from their website I'm not going to lie...I was dubious but when they arrived I was however pleasantly surprised. Obviously these boots aren't going to stand hiking up mountains but for a fiver they are definitely worth a place in my footwear department, I especially love the strap detailing around the ankles.
Hope you all had a nice weekend.

The MUA Matte Palette

MUA Matte Palette
This is a really quick post to tell you about my new make up fave..... The MUA matte palette.
Why do I love this palette?
  • It is extremely affordable at £4 and is great for those who may want to practise doing smokey eyes
  • The dark colours are extremely pigmented and if used with a primer they last all day
  • I have dark eyebrows so I can use the dark brown colours as a brow powder
  • As the colours are matte they are perfect for an everyday look. I use the dark brown in my socket with a light shimmer in my inner corner to create a gorgeous night time look.
  • The palette contains shades for every skin tone
Since buying this palette I have used it every single day. Definitely worth purchasing ladies.

Tartan sweetheart

Dress-  c/o Chiara Fashion
Bag- New Look
Shoes & Floral Crown- Primark
Simply for appreciation purposes I braved the cold this morning to take pictures of this GORGEOUS dress from Chiara Fashion (It's a good job the top is padded!!) For a girl with no waist the cut of this dress is perfect as it gives me some shape and length falls just in the right place. I am also a fan of a sweetheart neckline as it gives me some much needed definition in the chesticle area!
I decided to keep it simple with the accessories as the print is quite loud so I added my floral crown for some grunge and then for a different look I added a simple belt with gold detailing to make it more chic. I am going to wear this outfit tonight for a meal with the girls.
The dress is only £9.95 in the sale.

House of Fraser Denim Blogger Challenge

House of fraser Challenge- Put together your favourite denim look from House of Fraser
I haven't taken part in a blog challenge for a while so I thought it was about time I got my creative juices flowing. It's no secret that I am a massive fan of oversized jumpers so I decided to focus my outfit around this gorgeous powder blue one by Warehouse. I  love wearing rolled up skinny jeans paired with a grungy biker jacket and ankle boots, I also love contrasting prints so with this combo of leopard print and houndstooth we are onto a winner!!
. I think this outfit is so me and is perfect for autumn. I hope you like my choices.

Winter wonders

winter wonders1
Coat- Next. This coat is so gorgeous, I spotted it in the window the other day and it was instant love!
Boots- I have just recently discovered Heelberry, they have the most amazing selection of ankle boots it was hard to decide a favourite.
Perfume- This is the summer edition of flowerbomb, it is slightly more of a spicy scent compared to the normal perfume and is definitely more my cup of tea.
Blusher- I swatched some sleek blushes for the first time last week and straight away I wanted them all. This shade is perfect for autumn and has such a scrummy name....pomegranate!
Dress- I will always love monochrome, I love it even more when it is in a cute print.

Jumper, scarf & shoes- Primark
Jeans- Zara
Jacket- Debenhams
Bracelet- Dorothy Perkins
After buying my pink waffle jumper feat in my last post I decided I wanted another in a neutral shade. This one is a gorgeous off white colour and it has a really nice rose gold zip down the back of it which I forgot to photograph. The scarf was a mere £2, it has ugly tassel's on which I managed to cleverly disguise but for such a bargain who currressss, nothing the scissors can't fix!

I know my outfits all seem to consist of Primark at the moment but depressingly it's all I can afford. Do you guys mind?

Pink & silk pyjamas

oversized pink jumper 2 oversized pink jumper 3 oversized pink jumper 4

Jumper, Trousers & Shoes- Primark
Necklace- H&M
I succumbed to the pink jumper craze!! In my former life I hated pink but I think I have been converted. I know it's the wrong shade of pink but baby pink doesn't go with my pale skin, it makes me look translucent!
This gorgeous waffle jumper was only £8 from Primark. As you can imagine the material is reflected in the price, it's a bit scratchy but nothing a long sleeved top underneath cant fix.
I decided to keep my outfit simple as these silky pyjama-esque style trousers do all the talking, I love black and white with pink...such a gorgeous combination of colours.
Hope you have all had a nice weekend so far?

Biker Jacket & Beanie

Stripe jumper stripe jumper 3

Biker Jacket- F&F
Jumper- H&M
Shoes & Beanie- Primark
I bought this biker jacket from Tesco last week for £15 in the sale but I felt like it was a tad too big...what do you think?
The quality is really nice and I love the pop of cobalt blue in the lining but my arms are so short they disappear into the sleeves!!!!

Oversized Jumpers

Oversized Jumpers
I have dragged a picture out of my archives as I am struggling to take outfit photos in this abysmal weather. I know it's cheating but forgive me?
I absolutely love oversized jumpers in the winter. You can throw them over a pair of skinny jeans, stick on some boots and voila....stylish in seconds. Here are some of my fave highstreet picks

Shirt- Primark
Crop- New Look
Skirt- Forever 21
Boots- F+F
This outfit was inspired by a look I saw in ASOS magazine. Admittedly it's getting a bit cold now for crop tops but I just love this grungy look so much. I always wear the skirt for work so its nice to wear it in a different way, it was also a bargain at just £6.
I am on the look out for some cut out boots so if anyone knows of any that don't cost an arm and a leg (cough cough TOPSHOP) then please let me know.

Splurge then Save

Tartan coat, textured jumper, midi rings, ankle boots

Rings- Shop Dixi
Jumper- Matalan
Coat- Topshop
Boots- ASOS

I have decided to start a new feature called 'Splurge then Save'. Just because you might spend a lot of money on a beautiful wardrobe staple (such as this eye wateringly gorgeous coat), doesn't mean you have to break the bank with the rest of the outfit!!!!!!

27 October 2013

Textured monochrome

Necklace & Jeans- Topshop
Trainers- Barratts
Are wedge trainers still acceptable???? I hope so....I still very much love these ones I received from Barratts last year.
As I was having a lazy day doing boring grown up chores I decided to keep my outfit simple with this monochrome textured jumper I got from h&m yesterday. It's definitely a classic piece that will go with lots in my wardrobe and for ten pound the material is really good quality. I also bought this statement necklace from Topshop in the sale for five pound. I think it's really unusual but the boyfriend disagrees. He tends to have a strong opinion on my jewellery, I have one necklace that he likens to a dog collar!! Sweet isn't he!!!
p.s Pat on the back to anyone who spots the ketchup on my jeans!!! I'm so real life!
